ZEBRA SYSTEMS: AUTOMATION IS THE MAIN MOTIVATION FOR SWITCHING TO MSP

According to N-able’s findings, the most automated MSP activities are backup, patch management and security tool configuration.

PRAGUE, April 20, 2022ZEBRA SYSTEMS, a distributor of N-able solutions on Czech and Slovak markets, said that one of the most valued benefits of IT providers’ transition to the MSP model is automation of previously manual activities. According to the findings of a recent N-able study, MSP providers are automating backups, patching and security tool configurations in particular.

State of the Market report: The New Threat Landscape by N-able mentions that with the increasing number and sophistication of cyberattacks, manual defenses are virtually ineffective. Introducing a higher level of automation will allow MSPs to shed time-consuming routine activities, focus more on more strategic IT security tasks and better ensure business continuity for their customers.

The report’s most interesting findings:

  • Backup is the most automated activity within MSPs, with 85% of MSP partners surveyed engaged in it.
  • 68% of respondents said they have automated patch management activities.
  • 90% of MSPs provide automated site filtering services, mostly based on URL blocking. Only about 10% use more advanced DNS-based filtering.
  • 49% of MSPs use automated configuration of security tools.
  • 48% of respondents said they use automated network vulnerability scanning.
  • Just under a quarter automate pre-implementation security testing and configuration checks.

“In the traditional world of IT providers, administrators are overwhelmed with monotonous, repetitive and tedious tasks that can now be easily automated,” said Ondřej Šabata, Sales Engineer for N-able solutions at ZEBRA SYSTEMS. “By switching to an MSP platform, they gain powerful tools to improve their own business and customer service at the same time. N-able, for example, offers an automation cookbook on its portal that contains over 640 specific scripts tailored to N-able’s MSP solutions.”

N-able’s Automation Cookbook is available here.
